EURICSE

The Italy-based EURICSE (ITALY) is a research centre committed to carrying out research and training activities on cooperative and social enterprises. The main reason for the creation of this Foundation in Trentino was the extraordinary quantity of both cooperative and social enterprises, which represent a ‘laboratory’ for Italy and Europe in the eyes of the international delegations that visit them with increasing frequency. EURICSE’s activities are promoted by the Federazione Trentina dalla Cooperazione, the University of Trento, the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio Trento e Rovereto and Cooperatives Europe. EURICSE undertakes both theoretical as well as empirical research activities, in an effort to find both those elements that are common to all not for-profit forms of enterprises, as well as what makes them different. Both theoretical as well as empirical EURICSE’s researches are conducted in different filed of activities (credit sector, agricultural sector, energy and water supply, the production of social, educational, health, and general interest services, ecc.), studying different cooperative forms (users cooperatives, producers cooperatives, workers cooperatives, social cooperatives).
